A shared opinion
I'm sure I can't be the only one thinking: "I wish the protests would stop". I mean sure, its drawing media attention, but in completely the wrong way. In Tuesday's LT, Dan Clough's article (Tuesday's LT Article 8/11/2011) pretty much matched my feelings exactly. We all want wast best for the club, that's fair enough. But out on the pitch it can't be good for the players. Now, I know there will be people out there screaming "We pay our hard-earned money, we're entitled to do as we please". True, but how about using your energies positively? Encourage the positive. In my opinion, people are far too quick to take the negatives out of everything. Some days, I'm convinced people go to the matches just for the sake of having a moan.
This week is the week sees an international break, and in England's case, another pointless friendly. Prepare for the Euros? They are still over a year away! For Rovers and the other Premier League clubs, the break gives a chance to get some of their casualties closer to fitness. Chris Samba's hamstring injury we're led to believe will keep him out beyond our fixture next weekend. Actually, that game at Wigan leads me to wonder if history will repeat itself. We lost there 3-0 under Paul Ince, and he was sacked and Big Sam came in, despite the fact it looked like we had a winnable run of games coming up. Times have changed a great deal since then though.
Let's spend our energy as the oh-so-important 12th man, rather than marching or protesting. Here's to what will hopefully be a point-filled period that will see us climbing the table.
