Rovers festive programme

Rovers now enter an important part of the season, where the games come thick and fast over the festive period. Rovers face Yeovil (A), Sheffield W (H), Birmingham (H) and Leeds (A) (all 3pm) before the visit of Manchester City in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.

At the end of the festive fixtures, you get an idea just where your team is likely to be competing for the rest of the season. With those fixtures, Rovers can pick up a healthy number of points - hopefully.

The best news is that Rovers now have just Paul Robinson & Corry Evans missing, with Evans likely to be available for the end of that particular set of fixtures. Robinson has also returned to training with the first team, but won't be rushed. With Bowyer with almost full options, this will hopefully mean players can be used or rested when needed, hopefully making his job just that little bit easier.

If Rovers can close the gap on the top 6, we could perhaps hope to push for a playoff place. It certainly won't be easy, but a host of other clubs will be in the same position. While most Rovers fans would agree, Rovers certainly aren't better than a host of sides, neither are they worse than a whole host of sides. Hard work and of course, that little bit of luck will contribute.

Merry Christmas, fellow Roverites!
